Scale the Fonts, not the Screen.

      This thing?

Do I just increase everything by 2 points?

Instead of scaling, try increasing fonts sizes. However IME, scaling works fine so you might review your driver settings? I haven't had to deal with nvdia for quite awhile. I do have a laptop top with dual video cards - nvidia+intel - I just use the Intel card and scaling a 4k monitor to 150% works perfectly.

As far as SDDM, IME that's unrelated to your desktop video settings. SDDM doesn't use any desktop settings at all. I may have it's own "theme" which you can enlarge the fonts if you'd like, but zero desktop settings have any effect on SDDM.

Wil 26.04 stay on plasma 6.5? Or migrate to 6.6 eventually?

i do not believe. Plasma 6.6 was released some days ago and Resolute Racoon reached " Feature Freeze " on Feb, 20, 2026. So there is no time to introduce and test.

Note that there is a Freeze exceptions . It can be granted by the Release Team in some circumstances.

but.... " User Interface Freeze exception request bugs need a justification for why the User Interface (UI) needs to be changed at that point, and give a rationale as to why the benefits of it are worth breaking existing documentation and translations. "

They already applied for an exception, which was approved. So a 6.6 version will be in 26.04.
I have no idea where to find this info recorded these days.

I would like to know if anyone has been to hear Internet audio on Resolute. For example, Internet movie previews are visible but totally silent on all my 26.04 systems. I have checked settings on my Chromium Browser without any success. My audio lines are all active and I can play audio and video files that are on my laptop.

If there is any way to solve this problem, please let me know.

Confirmed. No sound and no device detected on the latest daily build and the snapshot 4.

On my laptop with Kubuntu 26.04, I also have the previous Kubuntu 24.04 LTS which I decided to test movie replays on. So on 24.04 LTS, sound and video work very well.

Hence, the problem with sound not working on video replays is a Kubuntu 26.04 problem and I hope the developers can solve this problem.

There is no Kubuntu 26.04 yet. It is there only for people that want to test it. You can choose between daily build or snapshot. It is not even on beta test yet.

In the next week or 2 we should see Plasma updated to 6.6 and Qt updated to 6.10, so some quite big changes.

Today's (1st March 2026) update has broken the desktop, not detecting screen properly (AMD system) and Plasma task bar not appearing on desktop.

Any one know where the formatting for the LOCK SCREEN WENT

Something changed since 24.04 ESR as it works there, but in 26.04 - Looking to change the lock screen time format to proper 24h time format, but
                            https://askubuntu.com/questions/7831...24-hour-format
None of these files or paths exist
Find from a root didn't find Clock.qml either.
Any one know where this setting went Thanks!

claydoh - Is the transition to 6.6 breaking current updates ? After the latest updates my desktop is missing a taskbar, right-clicking to get display config shows a basic gui with no settings available to change for my AMD graphics, booting into live daily is also the same, selecting different language from install screen breaks desktop. Help ?

No idea, I am not using 26.04. It is too early, and I stopped permanently running the dev version of Kubuntu as my daily OS some time ago. I have only done the Plasma 5-Plasma 6.0 transition., and I have seen zero issues with each step going from there to Plasma 6.6.1 on neon, over the past two years.

At this stage in development, it is not uncommon for parts of the OS to be missing, or just broken temporarily. Packaging bug with missing files, waiting for a package that is failing to build, that sort of thing.

But lurking on Kubuntu's dev matrix, some are seeing odd errors and such; not sure if related here. They appear to be waiting for 6.6.1 to build or maybe some Frameworks stuff before finding the cause/fix.

tl;dr welcome to running an alpha-state OS with a rapid-fire amount of work on both the Ubuntu and Kubuntu sides of things. Go back to your regular OS and keep checking for updates later
