In the next week or 2 we should see Plasma updated to 6.6 and Qt updated to 6.10, so some quite big changes.

There is no Kubuntu 26.04 yet. It is there only for people that want to test it. You can choose between daily build or snapshot. It is not even on beta test yet.

On my laptop with Kubuntu 26.04, I also have the previous Kubuntu 24.04 LTS which I decided to test movie replays on. So on 24.04 LTS, sound and video work very well
.
Hence, the problem with sound not working on video replays is a Kubuntu 26.04 problem and I hope the developers can solve this problem.

Confirmed. No sound and no device detected on the latest daily build and the snapshot 4.Originally posted by NoWorries View PostI would like to know if anyone has been to hear Internet audio on Resolute. For example, Internet movie previews are visible but totally silent on all my 26.04 systems
. I have checked settings on my Chromium Browser without any success. My audio lines are all active and I can play audio and video files that are on my laptop.
If there is any way to solve this problem, please let me know.

They already applied for an exception, which was approved. So a 6.6 version will be in 26.04.
I have no idea where to find this info recorded these days.

i do not believe. Plasma 6.6 was released some days ago and Resolute Racoon reached " Feature Freeze " on Feb, 20, 2026. So there is no time to introduce and test.Originally posted by mr_raider View PostWil 26.04 stay on plasma 6.5? Or migrate to 6.6 eventually?
Note that there is a Freeze exceptions . It can be granted by the Release Team in some circumstances.
but.... " User Interface Freeze exception request bugs need a justification for why the User Interface (UI) needs to be changed at that point, and give a rationale as to why the benefits of it are worth breaking existing documentation and translations. "

Instead of scaling, try increasing fonts sizes. However IME, scaling works fine so you might review your driver settings? I haven't had to deal with nvdia for quite awhile. I do have a laptop top with dual video cards - nvidia+intel - I just use the Intel card and scaling a 4k monitor to 150% works perfectly.
As far as SDDM, IME that's unrelated to your desktop video settings. SDDM doesn't use any desktop settings at all. I may have it's own "theme" which you can enlarge the fonts if you'd like, but zero desktop settings have any effect on SDDM.

Do I just increase everything by 2 points?

Ok trying it on the real deal. If I set display to 2560x1600 which is native, it's clean and crisp but everything is tiny.
If I scale the screen to 150%, the fonts are fuzzy and every now and then Sddm just goes black and I can't login.
Ideas?

It's a laptop with nvidia switchable graphics. That has it's own issues in a live environment.

How does scaling work in 26.04? I'm trying it in a VM and it craps out at 125%. The cursor is no longer aligned. I have display that's 2560x1600 and I would reallyt like to scale it at 150%.
