Snowhog, I rt-clicked just below the word Krusader (at top of screen) and see nothing like that.

Posr #17: I unlocked it OK, and dragged it far right to get lots of space, but can't drag that very-top menu bar onto it.
claydoh said something about how there is a KDE setting for that upper-most menu bar behavior.
Now, fact is, when you learn to use it, learn to find your main app menu bars at the top of the Desktop, then it works fine.

die.boer says: I believe that's the KDE Plasma's Global Menu widget thingy.

Maybe that's what claydoh was referring to. Of course, it IS in my notes somewhere, but, of course, I haven't dug it out (yet).

          You're right die.boer.

          My note on it:

          claydoh:

That is the application menu bar, the MacOS like top bar that shows.....application menus.
More specifically, it is the "Global Menu" widget on an otherwise empty thin panel. The 'Add Panel' context menu on the desktop will show this as an option.

Not every program supports this, but KDE/Qt at the very least should. Obviously libreoffice does as well.
Remove it if you want this to go away.

I sure don't wish to mess things up as I am already messing with my ESPs etc.
But if I were to remove that widget, I suppose that all my affected apps (LO Writer, Krusader, etc.) would then revert to normal menu-bar behavior? OMG ...

BTW, I did not put that widget there, honestly did not. It just has been "there."

So, anyway, thanks to both of you for looking at this. What a learning experience. I even forgot what I was looking for in that ESP!!! ha-ha LOL Yeah, I know, sudo -i ... but why go the easy route?

I tried to mark this "Solved," but get no Prefix drop-down list: 1st post > Edit > Prefix ?
I only get an Icon drop-down list. So I just typed SOLVED in my topic line.
                Lots of strange things today.

Fixed. So many things to remember maintaining KFN.

You can ask AI about the KDE Global Menu widget and learn all about it. It may not work with every app.
I mentioned that it felt strange at first.
                      AI remarked:
"It can definitely be surprising when a menu suddenly vanishes from an app and appears at the top of your screen out of nowhere. It is one of those neat customization features that makes KDE Plasma so flexible."
