    Zoom on Kubuntu?

It's late tonight, just got woke up with a request to use Zoom tomorrow for a live meeting,
I have never used Zoom (used to use Skype!), have done a quick search,
looks like it should work on Kubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 (older laptop, 2014 -- for someone else).
Is that right? Anyone using Zoom with Kubuntu 20.04 or 22.04? Any issues? Need the 'video meeting' capability.
Best/easiest/quickest way to set it up.
Going back to bed, but will have to deal with this in the morning ...Thanks.

    Edit: Did see this:

    using GDebi?
Any special issues to know about? User experiences?

Zoom should work fine, even if just in the browser.
You may already have gdebi, especially if using the EOL Kubuntu releases. Otherwise, Discover will install it.

Just double-click, or use dpkg/apt to manually install on the command line.
I have used Zoom on a 2013 i3 laptop (with an SSD) on 24.04, though I am not 100% sure, most definitely did so on 22.04.

You can test it out at least somewhat in the settings, using a test server sort of thing.

    test things out :
    https://zoom.us/test

If you need to screen share, it should Just Work, even on Wayland, though that is probably irrelevant on the old dead Kubuntus

    tl;dr:

download, double click, run it, test it.

I have used Zoom off and on since before the Pandemic, never on Windows, and never had a linux-related issue that I can recall. Heck, I can't recall any issue that wasn't spotty networks/internet.

Worst case is you should be able to use a mobile phone or a web interface instead of the desktop app (which is just a PWA to begin with iirc)

Got it. Thanks, claydoh, for the encouragement!
Actually, I had set up 22.04 on that laptop already.
In any case, got it all set up and tested. Just need to try a 'real' meeting, which I could initiate from another PC or my cell phone.
      Thanks!

I did install QDebi but not sure about it:
It's not listed in the K start menu anywhere.
But, more importantly, I don't see HOW it is used:

I downloaded the Deb file, zoom_amd64.deb,
and double-clicked it, and QApt Package Installer opened,
offering me the choice to Install Zoom (w/16 additional pkgs etc.).
        That worked.
And K > Internet > Zoom Workplace was installed.

I've used zoom, installed via APT, occasionally, with no trouble since the covid days. I get links in emails, which thunderbird opens in firefox, and firefox starts zoom. It likes to have a microphone and camera plugged in when it starts; I use an ancient USB Logitech web cam.

(One of life's ironies is that my wife, who has struggled to open an umbrella, is now a zoom expert.)

Ha-ha! Thanks, jlittle. I also use on old Logitech webcam on my desktop PC.
I will definitely play with this so I get a feel for using Zoom.

Yeah, Zoom worked here through covid. Rarely have a need these days 'cause retired...

Where I work, we made Zoom our default for any remote conferencing over Teams. Zoom has provided great Linux support. Never had issues. I'm one of very few that is Linux and all else are Windows and no one ever notices the difference, as there are none.

                  MoonRise, thanks. 👍👌
Just noticed today that MS is dropping Skype. Finally, after they made it basically unusable.

Zoom works well here also, I installed it via the discover. Have used it to stay in touch with friends.
