    here is how I installed Geany to my kubuntu 12.10;

    open terminal and enter such commands:

    1. sudo add-apt-repository*ppa:geany-dev/ppa
    2. sudo apt-get update
    3. sudo apt-get install geany

    that is it

    Why install a gnome app when we have perfectly fine KDE ones?

      You are correct up to a point, and that point is the demise of Quanta Plus. If you can point me in the direction of a replacement for this wonderful programme (it was my workhorse) I would be grateful

      Regards

        Well, a little good news for you - although still quite a ways away from what I can see.

            Thanks for that. All the more power to their elbow, or typing/coding fingertips

              Geany has been my favorite light weight ide for a long time. Hard to beat.

                That looks like a page full of BS adds to me.

                Quanta plus was better. I suspect that by the time it gets ported to qt4 qt4 will no longer be supported.

                I use kate for most stuff but for HTML I now use Bluefish. Bluefish is GTK but still doesn't suck too bad. Bluefish does have the HTML tool bar for lazy and ignorant folks like me.

                  No ads here - but a good hosts file will do that
