    Compression And Defragging?

I read on some benchmarks that using BTRFS with compression might actually make it faster somehow. Was that an error on the benchmark? What has been your experience using compression on disks and is it worth doing?

I'm also interested in autodefrag but am not sure about, what effects it might have. The BTRFS wiki indicated that it might increase file sizes.

The "somehow" might be that CPU cycles to compress the files mean less disk access required. Disk IO being the typical bottleneck when compared to CPU cycles., it makes sense that compressed files might save some time. Smaller files = less disk IO.

Not with current kernels, like since 3.14 this went away. I mount with it.
