Thanks. Can we specify the resolution ? ie, choose between 720p and 1080p ?

Also, does the downloaded video comes with an embedded audio track from the original video ?

      Yes to all.

If this falls down again in future, there are also other options https://invidious.site/ and https://github.com/Athlon1600/youtube-downloader

Also, the clarity varies a lot when I receive them as streaming. ie, when I watch a video it suddenly blurs and I lose the flow and an important part. I hope you will understand.
Yes there is, and I have personally used it many times. It's called Youtube-dl-GUI

LOL! Actually, I declined the request. When I firs tried that site it allowed a download without registration. Apparently so many hit the site that they decided to capitalize on it.

Updated youtube-dl. Restart youtube-dl to use the new version.
                john@john-Desktop:~$ sudo youtube-dl --version
                2020.11.19
I haven't tried the GUI, but the one on github is pretty old, relative to Kubuntu 20.04. Don't do a lot of downloading, but the CLI verison works just fine, and the only only option I use is -v.
