    libx11-dev

Your kdmrc file should be in /etc/kde3/kdm/
Three-quarters of the way through that file there should be a line like:
    Code:
    Theme=/home/patrick/.kde/share/apps/kdm/themes/"THEMEFOLDER"
Edit it so that it points to your new theme.

      Thanks Patrick.

Instead of editing the kdmrc file, I just moved the old /usr/share/apps/kdm/themes/kubuntu and untarred the file there.

Still can't compile moodin. I've added in the libx11-dev package, but still getting

        Re: New Kubuntu KSplash theme

The configure check is looking for the header X11/Intrinsic.h

A quick google and it seems to be in the libxt-dev package.

Going to install it and try again.

          Re: New Kubuntu KSplash theme

It now has a problem finding libXext

I found libXext.so.6 in /usr/lib, so perhaps a symlink from that to libXext.so should fix it.
The versioned shared object libraries are one thing that I have never fully got my head around. I thought that it would use the .so.6 version...

          Another missing package maybe?

            Hi,
very nice one and is even quicker than the default one.
Just a question: there is a way to change the background (blue area) and leave the foreground loading on my desktop background?

            regards

To use your own choice of wallpaper as the background, open up your wallpaper in the Gimp and then open the bg.png file in the "Source Images" folder as a new layer. Then just export the resulting image to /usr/share/apps/ksplash/Themes/KubuntuUltraSplash. Be sure to name it Background.png... That's it

The links here ( http://kde-look.org/content/show.php?content=25705 ) are dead if they worked I would have made a .deb

EDIT: My package is being reviewed! http://revu.tauware.de/details.py?upid=842

                        Re: New Kubuntu KSplash theme

Great theme, but I was wondering, is it possible to change the icons to the arrows used in the standard Kubuntu splash? I never really liked the splash showing icons like that on logon. Unfortunatley, I have little to no clue how to do this. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I plan on releasing an updated version in the next week or so. I'll switch the licence to GPL when I do that.
