You might want to consider who gets permissions to write blogs and articles
You don't want a free for all.
The blogs and articles can be a source for good accurate info if managed properly.

Yeah, I had to change the video code option under every single forum/subforum...took a while. I wish there was an "Apply to all" feature.

Just a bit ago I changed various defaults. All forums (*) now sort the way the prior KFN did: threads (what were formerly "topics") are listed in reverse chronological order by latest update time, rather than alphabetically. Most forums (*) will display the most recent 30 days of threads, but each user can change this in their settings; all forums under "Important information" default to displaying all threads.

(*) I haven't yet modified forums under "Kubuntu previous releases" or the international ones. There's no script to automate this; have to do it one-at-a-time. I'll make these same changes there soon.

How to view " all the threads " as in the old forum

How can I see all the older posts like we used to see them.
I can't see all the posts in a forum.
How can I view all the posts in a forum.
How view see all posts forum.

Here is how to do it:

    Go to:

Settings/General Settings/Thread Display Mode/ then: choose Linear Newest First.

There is also the option to choose from "Display" at the top right in what I perceive to be a blue bar, there are three options the first is linear mode.

If there is an easier way, someone else might post it.

It seems to me as if all of the "threads" have been populated. I took as a test the "how-tos".
But, whereas the old forum just automatically plunked all of the treads down for one to view and one could from that display go to... say page 5, now one has to go to the bottom and chose and option, like day or 5 days or 100 days etc.

Would someone confirm that for me?

Navigation around the forum is very fast. No hesitation or time outs when moving from one page to another.

Regarding the theme... what you all see at the moment is the default vBulletin 4.1 theme, but with our new logo and favicon. I plan to spend a few hours working over the theme on Wednesday evening to get more of a Kubuntuish look.

The settings function accepts an avatar uploaded from the computer and it shows in the box for you to accept the avatar but it is not showing in the forum post about three minutes later. That is just a "population" problem and at the end of it all the changes will be instaneous as usual, I am sure.

Hi, I like the apperance etc. etc.

The main page is certainly different and I think will be great.

This post is under OneLine's which has a date of "today, 09:00 pm" my clock says 3:06PM. I assume that there will a "synch times" function appear at some time.

As of the two times, some, I did not check all, of the subfora were showing:

    a) The title of the sub forum was there like: documentation whch had in it's title "how-tos" but the sub-sub-fora, such as "how-tos" was not listed as a clickable link at the sub-forum level when e one sees the name "documentation".

    b) in the "how-tos" there are only the stickied threads, or at least the first page of the stickied threads.

    c) Some people have their avatars showing others do not.
