    [SOLVED] vnc headless server

Setup a server and installed KDE and vnc. I can use tight vnc from the windows machine to connect and bitvise to connect ssh. As soon as I remove the monitor and restart it, i can no longer connect vnc, only ssh. I want to be able to connect either way.

So, what info is needed to help me figure this out?

I know I can do most things via ssh, but there may be times I need to use vnc. This machine will be moved to a remote location soon

Not sure for a suggestion on the vnc part... I dont use it much, its not very secure.

Try x2go you can start a new session or take the existing session via ssh... though if the "console" session is headless then you probably won't be able to grab that. I think you will run into the same thing the vnc is having with no "monitor" to attach to in the configuration.
x2go will work around that with giving you a new gui session and there is a windows client.
