Plasma 6.7 is out!

KDE neon users will see this in their normal updates.

The updated KDE Gear KDE Gear 26.04.2 is still coming, and should not be too far behind.


SDDM is being replaced by Plasmalogin as the default, so a popup or selection option may appear for you to select a display manager. Both can be installed together with no problem.

if you use offline-updates, you should still be using SDDM


Select it in the dialog.



You will either see this as a popup , or in the commandline as shown above. If you don't, you can bring one up by running either sudo dpkg-reconfigure sddm or sudo dpkg-reconfigure plasmalogin

SDDM probasbly is going away, down the road eventually. Plasmalogin is still pretty much SDDM still at this point, though. Except for the lack of themeing.

How can we set SDDM as default?

Actually, if you clean up with autoremove, you will need to reinstall sddm, as it will be removed. Then you will get the selection option again.
