    Kwin crashes

Yesterday, Kwin crashed on me once and this morning it crashed just after I logged on. It looked in the log like there might be a memory problem:

    2026-03-19
    T08:08:35.487274+01:00 jon-desktop kernel: total RAM covered: 16302M
    2026-03-19T08:08:35.487275+01:00 jon-desktop kernel: gran_size: 64K chunk_size: 64K num_reg: 10 lose cover RAM: 118M

    2026-03-19T08:08:35.487279+01:00 jon-desktop kernel: gran_size: 64K chunk_size: 4M num_reg: 10 lose cover RAM: 118M
    2026-03-19T08:08:35.487279+01:00 jon-desktop kernel: gran_size: 64K chunk_size: 8M num_reg: 10 lose cover RAM: 118M

But I ran a memtest (Passmark memtest 96 V8.4) for a good half hour and it found nothing. Btw, it seems to me there are far more entries in syslog than before. The above log entries seem to be from before I logged in.

Later on, there area bunch of messages like this:

    2026-03-19T08:09:49.968409+01:00 jon-desktop systemd[2065]: message repeated 15 times: [ drkonqi-coredump-launcher.socket - Socket to launch DrKonqi for a systemd-coredump crash was skippe
d because of an unmet condition check (ConditionUser=!@system).]

This would seem to indicate my logon:

2026-03-19T08:10:23.670666+01:00 jon-desktop sddm[2044]: Authentication for user "jon" successful
This looks odd, but shoudn't cause a crash:

2026-03-19T08:10:30.381702+01:00 jon-desktop org.kde.powerdevil.discretegpuhelper: Detected locale "C" with character encoding "ANSI_X3.4-1968", which is not UTF-8.#012Qt depends on a UTF-
8 locale, and has switched to "C.UTF-8" instead.#012If this causes problems, reconfigure your locale. See the locale(1) manual#012for more information.
    Here is my locale:

    Obviously, I am lost here.
