All my chrome-offshoot browsers hang

Firefox is my principal and default browser, but sometimes I want another. Usually that is chromium, but with its problems, I have also tried google-chrome, opera and vivaldi. They all hang -- and Vivaldi displays a screen-filling gray screen ("made in Europe" which can only be stopped with sudo kill -9 pid. I tried them all by command line and here are the results.

After dev vivaldi hung, it removed it and installed the snap version. Same result:

At first, I noticed the Vulkan (whatever that is) problem. But they don't all have it. Anyone else have similar problems? Or, better yet, solutions?

Same happened to me on Manjaro after messing around with my video driver. Try starting chromium from the command line like so:

chromium --enable-features=VaapiVideoDecoder,VaapiIgnoreDriverChecks,Vulkan,DefaultANGLEVulkan,VulkanFromANGLE

That worked for me. I then added --enable-features=VaapiVideoDecoder,VaapiIgnoreDriverChecks ,Vulkan,DefaultANGLEVulkan,VulkanFromANGLE in the launcher as command line argument and bingo, you can use your launcher again as usual.

I can do that by launching your command in a window, but can't manage to get it into the launcher. Just adding

--enable-features=VaapiVideoDecoder,VaapiIgnoreDriverChecks ,Vulkan,DefaultANGLEVulkan,VulkanFromANGLE

in the launcher does not work at all. Should I write a script and add that to the launcher?

Remove it and try again.

The problem here in KFN running on vBulletin, is the line character limit applied to un-enclosed (CODE or TEXT) text strings. Once that limit is reached, vBulletin inserts a space. So if you copied and pasted the command line argument toad posted, that space would have been copied as well.
