[DESKTOP] Muon broken... Doesn't find packages, then it does.

    muon seems to be broken.

Sometimes it stops finding packages (search results empty). Then if I close and restart it, it finds them again....

I am able to reproduce this by:

    Start muon
Search for something, select packages, and install
    Wait for installation to complete
Search for another package (try 0ad, or the one you just installed) - whether installed or not, it finds nothing.

    Update:
When the search box is cleared, there is clearly many packages available.

Seeing that here too. Seems if I close Muon, then run sudo update-apt-xapian-index it works again.

BTW, You may get this error when running the above:
Exception ignored in: <bound method ServerProgress.__del__ of <axi.indexer.ServerProgress object at 0x7fd5fef42240>>
      Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/python3/dist-packages/axi/indexer.py", line 306, in __del__
TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not callable
It's safe to ignore - the rebuild still happens,

Running that command did not fix the issue for me, nor did waiting for the "rebuilding search index" message to appear at the bottom-right corner. Restarting the app did work, but only for the 1st search. After that, the problem comes back again.

        Search for package, it appears:

Clear the search, try to search for something else, I get nothing

Even after this runs, still nothing

Also, running the command "sudo update-apt-xapian-index" does not work either.

I tried to file a bug but didn't because the version of muon in Neon is too new to be in the bug tracker. However, I just realized I could file this bug as a Neon bug, but that would seem potentially counter-productive.

Interestingly, Debian Unstable offered to remove muon and apt-xapian-index from my laptop this morning; I passed on the 'upgrade', but Sid has been offering to remove half of KDE for about the past week and a half. It looks like they got that resolved and things looked pretty normal except for offering to remove muon.

Guess I'll wait on the upgrade until apt stops offering to remove muon
we see things not as they are, but as we are.
