no.Originally posted by knuuser View PostAppreciate the desktops...
but isn't this the "what do you use your computer for", "to modify my computer" section?

The title is the tite, and I am going by that

Plus actual work is rather boring
And play is also unrevealing
And you don't see the mofifications? I forgot to unhide a panel or two.
The ricing is (imo, of course) mostly dumb cookie-cutter stuff I have seen repeated since the early KDE 4 days, and is too much work and detracts from usefullness.
Why have that anime waifu or sports car on the desktop that windows will cover, and odd colors and transparencies that make it harder to see do things? Or tack on all the widgets and stats that I don't need at all times. But again, that is just me. Been there done that. Except for the waifu thing, just no. Not even if I had a computer when I was single lol.

Still the same three panel layout in my Kubuntu 26.04 LTS (the left "dock" panel dodges windows, the right system infos panel autohides) on a single monitor with four virtual desktops.
<nag mode>
Still the same icon bugs for some large icons of Plasma Widgets in Plasma 6.6.x since 6.0.x (e.g. Wastebin and Dictionary).
Yakuake in combination with top panels still causes graphical bugs/inconsistencies (yes, both in X11 and Wayland).
And I still miss Latte Dock, since the Plasma Panel - as a dock replacement - still does not behave the way it should.
</nag mode>
Apart from that, I am pretty satisfied with how the layout possibilities/optics have evolved in Plasma (e.g. fortunately the "rounded corners" horror has remained quite unobtrusive so far and the "Grid" action had returned to Screen Edges some time ago).
Breeze Light with some Solarized Light additions, default Breeze icons, SF Pro Display/Fira Code fonts and Oxygen White cursor:
Debian LXQt • Kubuntu • openSUSE KDE • Linux Mint • Windows • macOS
Desktop: HP Elite SFF 805 G9 • Laptop: Apple MacBook Pro 13" • and others
important things to do after installation (24/26.04) • get rid of Snap script (20.04 +)
install traditional Firefox script (22.04 +) • install traditional Thunderbird script (24.04 +)
