I filed https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=397337 after being pushed to do so over at /r/kde.
And a few days ago I filed one about LXQt: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...c/+bug/1785401

I've personally be using Kscreen on a few different machines (all with foss drivers) with up to 4 screens without issue. My laptop is even outputs the correct resolution to the target screen (I often use a 4k and 1080P external). I really think it highly depends on your hardware. KScreen seams to work equally well on both xorg and wayland with the differences being mostly in kwin. What kind of video card and driver are you using in this machine? Have you tried on different hardware? Or with a different video driver (if you can)?
