Did you add it to the panel?

Yep. This machine is running 12.10. Wonder if that has anything to do with it?

It appears to have a favorites menu that's distinct from that of Kickoff.

And in case anyone's wondering about the difference between homerun-kicker and homerun-kicker-instant:

Some kind of hard-coded delay timer.

...My focus right now is on finishing the new
'regular-sized menu' frontend based on the same framework that Net-
runner aims to ship as default menu in the next release, and that
I'm considering proposing as a Kickoff replacement for PW2 even-
tually, provided we can eliminate the redundancy between Plasma
runners and Homerun source plugins (since I don't think it has a
shot of being accepted upstream otherwise)...

              PW2

I guess I'll try this on my 13.10 install at work.

So again I will ask as to why my kicker is a full screen launcher similar to another in the other thread, and not the "little launcher"?

What version of the Kubuntu and the KDE version ?

Is the Homerun Kicker starting from konsole ?

                      (1) Konsole:
                      Code:
                      plamoidviewer org.kde.homerun-kicker
                      (2)
There should be a small launch button

                      (3)
                      Application menu.

If the Kicker is starting from the konsole (plasmoidviewer) but not from the panel button

What is in the /usr/share/kde4/services/plasma-applet-homerun-kicker.desktop ?

If the Kicker is not starting from the konsole (plasmoidviewer)

What is the output of the konsole command ?

                        should be "plasmoidviewer org.kde.homerun-kicker"

                        Kubuntu 13.10, KDE 4.11.3

The panel kicker icon brings up the full screen version of Homerun, not the cascading menu.

Found the difference' One is homerun launcher the other homerun kicker. Homerun launcher is in the standard repos as plasma-witdget-homerun. The cascading menu kicker is from ppa:blue-shell/homerun When installing the kicker from the ppa the other is removed.

Didn't get a chance to try on system at work, but here on 12.10 with that Repo installed I don't see homerun kicker.

It is plasma-widget-homerun-kicker. Make sure you reload sources.

                                Code:
                                sudo apt-get update
                                sudo apt-get install plasma-widget-homerun-kicker
