Mark Shuttleworth has a new proposal for the future of Ubuntu (and by extension everythng derived from it, Incl. Kubuntu). It looks like a decent proposal. I really like the proposal to separate platoform and applications. But, I wonder how it would affect Kubuntu's KDE since it uses the 6-mo. cadence.

Yes that's true.
