Icons/visual display enlarged after update: Follow up

This post is a follow up from a previous post describing the issue (i.e. after updating my server from Jammy Jellyfish to Noble Numbat (Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS), the visual display is extremely enlarged). I realize the original post is old, but I'm now at the system being described and trying to fix it.

Below I've listed the things I've tried to address the problem.

1. System settings: per a recommendation from AskUbuntu, I've gone into KDE System settings and checked the "Force Font DPI 96" checkbox (no change).
2. kscreen

3. kwriteconfig
   1. Calling kwriteconfig5 --file ~/.config/kcmfonts --group "General" --key "forceFontDPI" "96" did nothing (and calling the same command using kwriteconfig resulted in the message "Command not found").
   2. Finally, manually creating the ~/.config/kcmfonts file and including the recommended text did nothing.

I appreciate this is a strange issue, but if anyone has any further suggestions, I'd really appreciate it. My only other solution is to scrap Kubuntu entirely.

Based on the above output, the issue is your resolution not font size. What's the output of xrandr ?
