Boot problem with kernel 5.15/17 after upgrade to jammy

After upgrading from Kubuntu 21.10 to 22.04 I can not boot with the kernels 5.15 or 5.17. Booting my "old" 5.13.40 is ok. Also very strange: 5.17 as well as 5.15 seems to ignore the fstab entries. I have a "nofail" on some network NFS drives, but those kernels try to mount and give an error and then the boot process seems to stop and no GUI/Plasma is started. I can log into a console via Ctrl-Alt-F2, but being a user and no system guru I do not know where to look for. DMESG shows nothing to me...

    System (the working version):

    Operating System: Kubuntu 22.04
    KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.4
    KDE Frameworks Version: 5.93.0
    Qt Version: 5.15.3
    Kernel Version: 5.13.0-40-generic (64-bit)
    Graphics Platform: X11
    Processors: 64 × AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X 32-Core Processor
    Memory: 125.7 GiB of RAM
Graphics Processor: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070/PCIe/SSE2

Do you mean they won't boot or you can't select them?

If they won't boot, check to see if the modules got installed also. Try this in konsole

    dpkg -l |grep modules |grep 5.15

Well they start to boot - I can select via Grub menu which one - and then they seem to stop.

OK, have restored my disk with Kubuntu 21.10 and Kernel 5.13.40. Everything very fine. Then I installed Kernel 5.15 manually - same error. Sticks after trying to mount the NFS directories and complains something about duplicate cookies... so lets close this, I have to look more generic in Ubuntu forums ...
