Can't get to Configure Software Sources page in Muon Package Manager

Lol, KDM = K Display Manager (nowadays no longer maintained or used), I was confused for a microsecond.
The Driver Manager tab simply displays and installs any proprietary drivers. it does not manage sources, that is what the Other Software tab in the Software Sources tool is used for.
Unless I am not understanding?

Found the cause. With the output of running software-properties-kde in a konsole and noting this: ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'UbuntuDrivers' I searched for ubuntu-drivers in Muon Package Manager which found ubuntu-drivers-common that was not installed. I installed it from a konsole: sudo apt install ubuntu-drivers-common and after it finished, relaunched Muon Package Manager. Clicking on Settings > Configure Software Sources now works.

This has never happened to me in all past installations of Muon Package Manager (sudo apt install muon). So it seems that ubuntu-drivers-common is a REQUIRED dependency, but not identified as such in the muon packaging details in 20.04. Would I be correct in this?

ubuntu-drivers-common probably should not be a requirement for Muon, but it should be for either the separate program software-properties-kde (which IS a dep of Muon, iirc),. or some other lower level meta-package, like kubuntu-desktop or something like that. Is yours a standard or minimal install? I would think that both the driver manager (kubuntu-driver-manager and its required ubuntu-drivers-common) would be installed by default (as it has been for ages), unless there was an error installing the -common package that was not noticed somehow? Odd, as it is included on the live session of 20.04 I am booted to at the moment. As expected.

That's a bunch of somewhat important stuff being removed there, probably a mangled dependency on something. Not unusual in pre-releases, though, especially back in January.. I will bet that whatever it was has since been fixed as you didn't note any problems installing the missing package. Have you tried re-installing kubuntu-desktop, if it is still missing?

You said you were "fully updated"... Did that include the approximately 236 packages that came down the pipe today?
For the first time since I installed 20.04 in January I am getting an installation error that I cannot resolve using the usual commands. The full-upgrade command fails with an "unable to overwrite ***" and ends with a "code(1)". Rolling back to the snapshot pair taken before the executing the update allowed me to restore my stable system. I'll wait until I get word that the problem was fixed in a future update.

As far as you're not seeing the the panel that allows you to edit sources in Muon I had a similar problem with 18.04 last year, and as a work-around running the command in the Konsole without the "attach" parameter allowed access. A short while later an upgrade fixed the problem, and a few weeks after that I switched to 20.04.

I installed 20.04 on Jan 4th, 2020 and checking the Muon history I noted that ubuntu-drivers-common was installed on that day. It was updated on Feb 2nd and that is the last entry.

I solved it for myself by rolling back to the snapshot pair that I made before I ran the update. I am going to wait until I see a msg coming down the pike which announces the error and the patch that fixes it.

In 20.04, I open System Settings and choose "Driver Manager". It opens an "external application" - it says so - called "software-properties-qt" which looks like... the first screenshot in my previous post.
Of course, it opens it at the "Additional Drivers" tab. But if you click the "Ubuntu Software" and "Other Software" tabs, it lets me change the sources, and I was wondering whether it would let Snowhog do so too, so if it was a problem with Muon or the "software sources" themselves.

Ah I see what I have not clarified. The tool in Muon is the exact same program, software-properties-kde. It is also used in Discover. Synaptic will also use it.

Software-properties-qt and software-properties-gtk do.

[EDIT] Just to be totally, completely, utterly and... whatever you choose... obnoxious: -kde and -qt require superuser to run, -gtk does not, it authenticates on changes :·)

Left the laptop on overnight. This morning I ran: sudo apt update followed by sudo apt install -f which 'fixed' a number of packages and completed without any errors. For good measure, I then ran sudo dpkg --configure -a which immediately returned the prompt (nothing needed doing). So sudo apt install -f (after the package cache update) seems to have fixed this issue. I then ran sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade and got:

In recent Kubuntu, software-properties-kde is just a symlink (for compatibility) to software-properties-qt. They are now EXACTLY the same program.

In 20.04 kubuntu-driver-manager simply launches software-properties-qt, with the driver tab pre-selected, and Breeze theming (instead of fugly default Qt).

Oh, and the libkpimsmtp5abi1 file overwrite issue is now fixed.

Boohoo. On my neon (Testing) they aren't. Software-properties-kde doesn't have a "drivers" tab. Software-properties-gtk does (and runs without sudo) and

On Neon, this is correct, as on 18.04, this was the layout. The new software-properties-qt was not introduced until later. In any case , It is not a KDE/Plasma program, but is Ubuntu-specific, so Neon does not package this, or have it as part of a normal install.
