[Desktop] Minimun install fails with error

Tried to do minimum install but the setup end with errors:

Command <i>DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get -y --purge remove kmahjongg kmines kpat ksudoku skanlite skanpage okular libreoffice* kdeconnect krdc neochat elisa haruna vim snapd partitionmanager usb-creator* plasma-welcome kde-config-tablet plasma-welcome</i> finished with exit code 100.
    Output:
    Reading package lists...
    Building dependency tree...
    Reading state information...
Package 'libreoffice-core-nogui' is not installed, so not removed
Package 'libreoffice-base' is not installed, so not removed
    >>> error continuous >>>

Same issue was described in Topic: https://www.kubuntuforums.net/forum/...do-min-install.

    But no solution provided.

I noticed this error already in the 26.04 release. Was very disappointed this was not fixed in 26.04.1.

    Anybody any clue?

Are you doing this: To do a minimal install of Kubuntu 26.04 LTS, select the Minimal installation option inside the graphical setup wizard when booting from your live USB installation media

"Package 'libreoffice-base' is not installed, so not removed" doesn't look like an error. It looks like a status message.

Why don't you describe what is actually happening. Like where the installing stops and what errors are presented?

The only option then is to reboot and the installation results is a "normal" installation. With Libreoffice, Firefox and the lot . . So definitly NOT a minimul install.

So I did a minimal install using the Kubuntu installer and checking the "Minimum Install" option.

None of the programs in your list above were installed. okular-core and okular-extra-backends were installed, but not Okular. Looks like a couple vim libraries, but not vim. Same for snap - a couple files but not snapd.

The install went smoothly and took up 6.5G. I was able to remove the files I mentioned above. Removing the snapd libraries actually added more bytes than it removed because other packages had to be installed to replace them. The total shift in size was lest than 1MB.

Seems to me you're going about it the hard way, but good luck to you.

This output is from the minimal install option, which is simply uninstalling that list of packages from the base OS image after install. The wildcard used (the "*") makes it want to try and uninstall things that weren't present to begin with, but this is OK, none of that output is actually an error. Just information. Why the last two packages are causing an error is the stumper, and one that no one seems to be able to reporduce.

So, other than looking and digging through logs on the live session after the failure, you could boot to the installed OS and then run that same command to make it a minimal install.

                Code:
apt-get --purge remove kmahjongg kmines kpat ksudoku skanlite skanpage okular libreoffice* kdeconnect krdc neochat elisa haruna vim snapd partitionmanager usb-creator* plasma-welcome kde-config-tablet plasma-welcome

But I will ask the same unanswered question that acheron did in that other thread: were you connected to the internet when installing?

EDIT: I can reproduce in virt-manager, when I disconnect from the network. I don't believe I saw this in previous attempts.
Re-connecting and running the installer again did have a successful install.
