So, does the installed OS boot and function noirmally?

I think that this step is the very last part of the installation process, where it uninstalls a list of packages pre-installed on the OS image that has been copied to disk. The worst thing that should have happened in this case would be that the scanner app (Skanlite) and the remote desktop viewer app (krdc) were not removed.

when I install the regular installation it works correctly. i guess I can remove snap after that but it would have been easier if i just did min install

I have no idea why it fails here for you like this. But note that there is no message regarding snap here, which I will very strongly think means that it WAS removed along with the other packages from the initial list that have no messages below.

It is actually physically faster, technically, to remove snap by itself after the fact than the time it takes to uninstall a long list of software unrelated to Snap. Minimal installs actually take longer than full installs for this reason. Though probably not an overly huge difference.

But, it is still a bug, and quite scary looking, for sure. But all it is saying is that some packages were not installed to begin with, and the last two with the actual error messages could not be found, and probably means they were not installed either.

That is probably the bug here; they are present on the live image, which is what gets copied to disk. I saw no errors or messages in a test install with the log window open.

I wonder if the image is a tiny bit off, or the burn was.

I too have been struggling to curate a custom install minus snaps, flatpacks and instead install the stuff I actually want.

In the end, I turned to AI and after a few hours actually created a near-perfect .iso which has everything I desire in an installer minus all the stuff I dislike or can do without.

Everyone is different, and will want stuff they personally value, my stuff includes all the troubleshooting stuff I normally use for fixing broken systems, gparted, gdisk, qt-fsarchiver, an installed boot-rescue, networking troubleshooters and I made it with persistence so in a tiny 256gb USB stick, I can have my full blown system instantly available on any computer.

To make it easy login as root with a password of: 1

After logging in as root you can then create your normal user

To add to this, I forgot that skanlite and krdc are not installed on the live image to begin with, nor are any of the other Libreoffice ones shown here. The message does show that libreoffice* here indicates a wildcard that would include *all* packages containing the term, including those not present.

I do not see any messages, warnings, or errors seen in your logs when looking at my two test installs.

Basically there should not be an error message because this messaging should not and normally is not seen as errors.
But they do not need to include skanlite and krdc in the removal list any longer since they are not included to begin with now.

I have not come across any bugs on Launchpad for this yet, though it can be awkward searching for things there.
