    Basic package lists do wonders:

    Code:

    libnvidia-ifr1-[COLOR=#FF5454][B]410[/B][/COLOR][COLOR=#000000] - NVIDIA OpenGL-based Inband Frame Readback runtime library[/COLOR]

    nvidia-kernel-source-[COLOR=#FF5454][B]410[/B][/COLOR][COLOR=#000000] - NVIDIA kernel source package[/COLOR]
    nvidia-utils-[COLOR=#FF5454][B]410[/B][/COLOR][COLOR=#000000] - NVIDIA driver support binaries[/COLOR]
    xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-[COLOR=#FF5454][B]410[/B][/COLOR][COLOR=#000000] - NVIDIA binary Xorg driver[/COLOR]

You can plainly see that the binary driver is xserver-xorg-video-nvidia-410 while nvidia-driver-410 is a meta package - that is a package that does nothing but draw in other packages. *buntus use dkms so that packages as well as the kernel packages and OpenGL packages are needed. I just installed everything and it works here, just not System Settings > Driver Manager

And just "because", dkms = Dynamic Kernel Module Support

Another thing to note is that when moving between different Nvidia driver versions, make sure to run apt autoremove to remove any stray packages from the previous driver left over - I have seen this a lot with the PPA driver packages, but it often happens with the official packages as well.

This caused all sort of weirdness foe me

But I moved to AMD and zero problems. No proprietary drivers to install or tweak (tho updated mesa et al from a ppa does improve gaming somewhat here)
