Can't type accents on non KDE apps while running Kubuntu 13.04 but it works on Ubuntu

    Hi.

I had these same problem a time ago but I can't remember how I solved it. When running Kubuntu 13.04 I can't type accents over vowels (áéíóú) in applications like LibreOffice, NetBeans and QtCreator. If I switch to Ubuntu it works like expected. Other KDE applications (KRunner, Amarok) do not present the problem. I have KDE with the spanish translation. As keyboard distributions I have English and Spanish and I switch between them with Alt+Shift. I don't want to use Ubuntu because I'm really confortable with KDE since 3.x.

The command locale outputs LANG=es_CU, LANGUAGE=es_CU:es.

As I said I solved the problem a time ago but in a certain moment I deleted all hidden files of my home directory and the problem appeared again.

Can anyone help me on this?

    Start System Settings
    Input Devices
Keyboard tab at left (should be initially selected)
    Advanced tab at top right
    Expand Compose key position.
    Choose the key you prefer

Thanks. Let me try this in the Kubuntu PC (at home, I'm at work now) and I'll tell how it was.
