Question Plasma 5.8 in 16.10 backports

Does anybody know when Plasma 5.8 will be included in kubuntu-ppa/backports? Eagerly waiting for it...

When Ubuntu updates Qt version in the repos, so that 5.8 can be built, I reckon.

Ubuntu 16.10 already ships with Qt 5.6 which is sufficient for Plasma 5.8.

Once it get in the development 17.04 release, we can backport. So hopefully not too long.

Yeah, there needs to be something to be backported from. For some reason I was thinking backporting from 16.10 not to 16.10 :doh:

    ???

Okay, what happened to the smilies?????

I ran into that too! Snowhog explained that if you go to the Advanced tab and at the bottom of that page unselect the checkbox "Disable smiles with text", which enables emoticons so they will display --- for THAT message only! You have to do it for each message because of some flaw in a vBulletin mod.

That change was only made to the KFNBlue Style; none of the other Styles are affected (or shouldn't be!) by the modification. That said, due to the confusion the modification is creating here, I've undone the change I made and cleared the system cache. The behavior of smilies "should" return to their 'normal' behavior.

Ah, they have! I went to the "Advanced" editor on a previous post and noticed that the box was already unchecked.
