I finally got my icon. Fresh install of Alpha-2, and followed the Headless CLI Instructions.

And then I bought an SSD and did a totally fresh install.
HPLIP crashes with the old message there is no system tray and I still have to do a hot reboot to get a working system.

This makes me wonder what made the icon show up in the original install...

I am not sure my fresh install had anything to do with it.
It seems to me that as my other VMs / Partitions are being upgraded, the Drop Box Icon is starting to appear everywhere.
For all I know it is a stealthy Drop Box upgrade.

Another observation, by enabling Kubuntu backports repository I did get the HPLIP icon back but still no Dropbox and and Skype icons.

Running a basic install of 15.04, with only Dropbox installed and no other repositories added. Loaded all the updates today and no Dropbox icon. Is there a repository I should enable?
