Just a few general questions about Kubuntu and new hardware

I am currently on a computer that had the initial install with only an internal video and then installed an external video card.
Question: Will Kubuntu automatically detect during bootup that the new video card is there and install the drivers?

Question: Same thing but for printers....my friend disconnected the printer. If I reconnect will it automatically see the printer and install drivers?

If the printer need special drivers, then no. If it's already included in CUPS it will probably just work - you will have to "install" it in System Settings.

As far as the video card, it depends. Most likely if it's an nvidia card, you will need to install drivers. If it's AMD or Intel, probably not.

I can't imagine anything blowing up or burning down if you just boot up and see what happens. If something goes amiss, post here. That's what this place is for
