Does Kubuntu 26.04 only support Wayland?

This is a question I have for the future. I haven't used the 25.x versions; I've been upgrading from LTS to LTS, currently on 24.04. I've been reading but haven't found the "official" answer. Does Kubuntu 26.04 only come with Wayland? Is there no possibility of using X11?

    Regards

Kubuntu stopped shipping with Plasma (X11) starting with 25.10. Plasma (Wayland) is the default now. But, you can install support for Plasma (X11) still. Open a Konsole and type: sudo apt install plasma-session-x11 Logout and Log back in and select Plasma (X11) at the SDDM Login Screen.
Windows no longer obstruct my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.

You can install X11 with this command. Log out afterwards and select X11. Then log in again.

      Code:
sudo apt update && sudo apt install plasma-session-x11

FYI, I believe there are plans to drop X11 in entirety circa 2028

Okay, thanks to both of you for the replies. I'll add that command to my list of recommended commands My past tests with Wayland didn't go well at all, so I'll have to try it with 26.04, but... if we can install X11 and choose, all the better.

          Thanks!

If so, let's hope Wayland works at least minimally well so we don't have to miss x11....

I Have no problem with wayland on my machine. It's been work quite well since 25.10 was released and believe it will only get better as time goes on.
Don't know if 26.04 plans to use the plasma login but if so believe it will only work with plasma.
