Hello everybody, I have just decided to replace Windows10 on my beloved old Thinkpad Laptop. It is working well but updates are taking to much time to download, how may i tune it? laptop is connected through a 5G wifi connection and using a 1Gbps internte fibre connection. Other devices connected in mu home network runs well

You didn't say which version of Kubuntu you are using. If you installed from 24.04 or 25.10 from a new ISO there shouldn't be a lot of updates.
It may be the 5G connection. Does your laptop have a ethernet port? Hard wired connection always faster.Comment
