KDE Wallet will not turn off

I'm very new to Kubuntu and Linux, as a matter of fact, this is only my second install. I tried OpenSuse several years ago but couldn't get printing working correctly so stayed with Windows. I'm here to stay now and I Like It!

Everything but the KDE Wallet. During the installation, I did tell the installer to configure it, but now every time I open Google Chrome it gives me a message about not having a KDE Wallet key (after complaining it does let me continue into Chrome). I have disabled the KDE Wallet System in System Settings. Still no luck.

I have Kubuntu 25.04 and upgraded me KDE Plasma to 6.3.5. Thanks in advance for the help!

There are reports that Plasma 6.3.5 has a bug if you do not use kwallet. Just leave it installed and running and use a blank password for kwallet. Then it shouldn't bug you anymore.

Thanks for the answer. Seems KDE Wallet will not allow me to save the configuration without a password. It says configuration, not sure if that is for the key or the configuration. I did read through the link you provided, I didn't see any situations like mine. Is there a good document with step-by-step instructions for configuring and using KDE Wallet? Maybe I'm just using it incorrectly.

      Thanks Bobby

A few years ago I had a problem with the wallet and the only way I could sort it out then is to stop using auto-login (ie. no password).

My 25.04 install (vm) has never asked for a password for kwallet. I suspect the problem lies with Chrome since it's not from the Kubuntu repos.

As a test, I downloaded and installed Chrome from the deb package on 25.04. When I initially launched it, google wallet opened and asked for a password. I left the password fields blank (as I suggested) and continued. It asked if I was sure I wanted to use an empty password, I clicked OK. I rebooted and Chrome opens without launching Wallet.

Seems to work as expected here.

Just installed Kubuntu 25.04 on my laptop and having the same problem when opening Chrome, Edge or Vivaldi, all this browsers are Chromium based, Firefox it seems to be OK. No problems on 24.10.
