Mounting FreeBSD Drives And Viewing Files Thereon

I've searched all over the place and could not find the answer I need. I did find how to mount the FreeBSD drives, but after mounting, when I attempt to view the content, I only see the top-most tier of content. When I click into a sub-directory, it never lists the files.

I'm trying to mount and view /dev/sda1 and /dev/sdb1 (see below).

Anybody have a clue as to what might be happening?

Specs: Kubuntu 17.10

If you have them mounted correctly, probably a permissions problem. Can you list the files as root?

I cannot list the files as root, though I'm trying, "sudo ls." Is that sufficient?

I also tried chowning the folder I want to view. It is currently owned by root, but I also tried giving it to the "kubuntu" user (which is the logged in user).
