 I did that and nothing has changed sadlyOriginally posted by Snowhog View PostOpen the keyboard file. Press Alt+F2 and type: kdesudo kate /etc/default/keyboard

 Remove qwerty from XKBVARIANT= so it looks like:

 XKBVARIANT=""

 Save/close the file. Log out of the Desktop and then log back in under your normal user. Any change to the keyboard functioning?<3 there is no hope <3

 I had trouble with wifi, and it took me a lot of effort to solve it, and I am scared that reinstalling the system will take me back to point zeroOriginally posted by NickStone View PostIf you boot up a previous version from a CD or USB stick does the keyboard work? <3 there is no hope <3 <3 there is no hope <3

 Open a console and type:
 Select then tab to the Ok and press Enter for each option. Go through the list of questions. When finished, you will need to log out and restart your PC for the changes to take effect. After logging back in, any change to the keyboard behavior?Code:sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration Windows no longer obstruct my view.

 But the external keyboard does work? You have a LiveCD of Kubuntu? Assuming 'yes', boot using it. Don't reinstall, just run from the LiveCD. Does your laptop keyboard work as it should? If 'no', then we have to suspect a defective internal keyboard.Windows no longer obstruct my view.

 So, at some point, while you were using 13.04, your laptop keyboard was working?My keyboard stopped working I when I had 13.04, upgrading did not solve the issue.Windows no longer obstruct my view.

 Well, honestly, that implies a hardware failure. How old/new is the laptop? Is it still warranted?Windows no longer obstruct my view.

 I didn't mean to re-install the previous version but to run it from a live CD or USB. If the keyboard works whilst running a live USB of 13.04 then it has something to do with the keyboard driver of 13.10. Also bare in mind that 13.10 has not been officially released yet, still in beta.Originally posted by 1999NBK View PostI had trouble with wifi, and it took me a lot of effort to solve it, and I am scared that reinstalling the system will take me back to point zero
