    Hi All,

In my kubuntu 11.04 OS ... when i try to play a full hd video (1920 * 1080) via vlc player .. I'm exprencing a video distortion when i seek the video forward or backward ... My monitor is having a capacity of playing full hd video and using nvidia getforce 8500 graphics card with 1GB of dedicated video memory...

    Please help me on this...

Do you use VDPAU? Install smplayer and in options choose "vdpau" as "output driver". This way you will have hardware accelerated video playback.

I don't use vlc player but I think VDPAU is available for vlc too.

Are you using the latest nvidia driver?

Re: Playing 1080p Video via VLC player..

The issue is fixed by modifying the Default depth section from 24 to 16 in the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf ...as mentioned under Problems with Video Playback section in ubuntu help documentation....

          Thanks
