    Order of media files

    Hi
    I consider myself a newbie.
I have an old dell tower which a friend installed Linux mint 10 but the updates were not working.
I should of asked for help as the recovery mode did not work either.
I tried to upgrade to 11 but I think its to powerful for this computer.
I found a copy of kubuntu 11.04 and although the desktop is different I am still liking it.
Now I download a lot of torrents both video and audio files .
as this machine has only 80 GB of memory I have them stored on a seagate external drive that is 1 TB.
Now I was quite happy but yesterday all of a sudden the order of the files changed.
Now this would not be so bad if it was only 1 episode but I have several files which contain multichapter stories now instead of them going from 1 -6 the order has changed and they seem to be in order of size.
e.g86 MB then a 90MB and so on.
Now I do do some journeys and at these times these longer stories are quite useful.
Forgive the long paramble but I am sure I did something wrong is there a way of rectifiyng this situation.
Also I never used it but is there a piece of software someone can recommend that I can use to join these multichapter files.
    Thank you in advance

You don't say what you're using to view your file list, so I'll assume Dolphin.

Got into "View" then "Sort By"

Thank you for your reply, now after I like you assumed that the file manager was standard but upon opening up help I found out it was called Thunor and there was no answer to my problem in the help files so I opened up the package manager and did a search just using the phrase Thunor and then applied them to my system and lo and behold everything returned to normal.
Now this morning I thought I would read up some more about my system and I read a review of kubuntu 11.04 and it said the default file manager is dolphin.
Now I do not know why that is but maybe someone or yourself could tell me.

WEll I got kubunti 11.04 from a magazine disk not online and I am still a beginner but it definitely says Thunor on the about button and the help link sends me there.
I think I will download a copy and check that.
Thanks for your help I will come back and let you know what happens

Looks like it's an XFCE file manager, not KDE.

That make sense, some times kde manager gets confused and choose another file manager besides dolphin or Konqueror
