    Hi...

We would need to know what the chipset brand and number is. Could you please post the results of

    Code:
    lspci
in your next post? Also, is this your motherboard?

    Thanks!

I believe that (kinda old) mobo uses ndiswrapper and the RTL 8187 chipset. Do some searching on how to set that up.

thanks... in installed the windows wireless program but it doesnt see (nor does kubunutu?) my windows harddrives... they are in raid if that matters. it only sees my storage drive.

now that might be an issue all together, but i put the drivers on the storage drive, and once installed it says hardware present yes, but then when i go to configure, it gives me an error message, and says

there was an error setting up inter process comunications for kde. the message returned by system is could not read network connection lis. /root/.dcopserver_darkstar_0 please check that the dcopserver program is running.

(darkstar is name of my comp) i press ok, then it says:

kcmshell kdialog - will not save config, config file /root/.kde/share/config/kcmshellrc and "..."/kdeglobals not writable. please contact sys admin.

i also noticed that kubuntu already correctly ids the wireless driver under the "start bar" drop down for internet connections... it says right driver type etc. it just says not connected. i triple checked the settings for id/password etc and its all correct, but when i do scan, it never finds anything, like its not even using the wireless to look maybe?

Sounds to me like you have problems beyond the wireless card.

Your previous post said your wireless card wasn't detected but now your saying it is?

You should start a new thread regarding being unable to connect wirelessly as it seems that is your problem.
