Please do not use the CODE tag when pasting content that contains formatting (colored, bold, underline, italic, etc) Use the QUOTE tag instead.
The CODE tag displays all content as plain text, including the formatting tags, making it difficult to read.
When I try to install Kubuntu 7.04 (32 bit) it ends up with a black screen and a blinking cursor. Pressing ctrl+alt+f1 brings some text and a prompt (ubuntu@ubuntu~$_).

Thanks! But the thing is, I don't even get to the point where I can make a user and a password. This cursor thing happens before the installation really begins...
Well, I'll try folowing the steps anyway and see what happens.

OH.
OK, at the very first screen, you need to press F6 (I think it is), depending on whether you are using the Live CD or the Alternate Install CD. There are some different boot options -- noapci and nolapic are ones that I most often hear solve that problem.
