    Finding disk hogs?

I am trying to find something, preferably CLI, as for some of the situations, there is no X11 server any way... to find DISK HOGS.

I've been through du, journctrl, reviewing /var/log/ etc.. to find what is eating disk space, nothing provides the "smoking gun" as to where the space is going, and then backtrack to what is writing in there...

I know whats running, on these things, and one, yeah it writes data, and it will end up being alot, but even when this process has its data compressed and removed from that disk, there is something(s) still hogging space, and short of honestly rebuilding the system from scratch ie: new HD, reinstall etc.. Which seems like the hammer, which I like to use too, but it seems odd, and likely to end up at the same point.

Something is hogging disk space, but again du etc. don't provide a hey theres 1000000GB stored in some /etc/stupidprogram/logs/! Do you need that

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!

    please post output of
    Code:
    sudo lsof +L1
you can also look at ncdu. It's a very useful interactive, terminal-based disk usage analyser.

    Code:
    sudo apt install ncdu
    Code:
    sudo ncdu -x /

      I use: sudo du -h / 2>/dev/null | grep '[0-9\.]\+G'
