Showing hidden files on USB thumb drive

    Hi Everyone,

Can ypu advise on how hidden files can be shown in Dolphin for USB Flash drives please.

I plug the USB into another computer, and all files & folders appear.

    Thank you in advance.

That will depend entirely on the other computer's settings.

    In Kubuntu/ Plasma desktop:

If you have Dolphin set to NOT show hidden files, you will need to either:
    • change that setting (three-bar menu or ctrl+h) -- this will show hidden items *everywhere* until you toggle it off.
    • enable separate view settings per directory:
Click image for larger version Name:	Screenshot_20250709_235637.png Views:	0 Size:	103.9 KB ID:	687485
THEN toggle hidden files/folders whenever you open a folder where you want to view them - this setting will be saved.
There isn't a way to do this specifically for USB sticks.

other Linux desktops will have variations on this.

Windows' file explorer as well will have a setting somewhere.
