    Re: enemy territory help

What I have to do to get sound to work is:-

    cd /dev
    sudo ./MAKEDEV audio

For some reason /dev/dsp doesn't exist and the above commands create it (but only for that session I am still looking for a more permanent solution)

Ok lets try this from a different angle from Konsole type in et to start the game, then simply exit the game. Can you cut’n’paste what it says from Konsole, we might be able to see some error.

          steve@32-0:~$ et
          bash: et: command not found

i have the game installed in my home directory so it doesnt launch that way via konsole what would i type in the konsole since it is in my home directory

                Re: enemy territory help

My log also shows that the system is muted but I'm hearing the sound. I have SBLive and onboard audio card which I disabled in bios. So, maybe you could try disabling it too and make /dev/dsp entry again.

BTW, whenever I try to refresh the server list ET completely hangs and the music loops (like the broken record) for a 30-40 seconds. This happens everytime I refresh the server list. The log file shows some overflow but I'm not sure what's the problem. Does anybody know?

Here's a part of log file:
                Requesting servers from the master...
                Sys_QueEvent: overflow (repeats about 50x)
