VLC capture alternative for easycap

Hello. I have a question that i think belongs in this sub forum.

I have a usb capture card that runs fine using VLC but is there an alternative app that i can use to record both audio and video.

I did a bit of looking, I found OBS Studio. It's pretty good and it lets me record from my easycap device.

I've tried DScaler and it has been fantastic. It plays back sound and video with no lag. However, the "recording" function on DScaler is not picking up the audio from the footage, just the video.
