Anyone willing to do some testing for me with Kaffeine, please let me know. They would be just simple things but a DVB source would be required.

It's great to see Kaffeine getting some attention. I haven't used it for quite some time now, but will try out the latest. Unfortunately I can't test out DVB.

This is interesting. I hadn't heard of/noticed Kaffeine before. Does it have feature(s) that VLC does not have?
      I run Kubuntu 18.04 LTS.

I can't compare VLC to Kaffeine. I have used VLC for just a few times; everyone considers it a gold standard for video play, even in Windows (where WMP was outed). Just to say that after installing Dragon Player, VLC, and Kaffeine, I'm a long-time user of Kaffeine and would be lost without it (but could get used to the others). Kaffeine has a lot of conveniences, controls, menu options. Download it and try its menus on some vids.
