How to copy an unfinalized DVD?

    All:
I was recording some old "Laurel and Hardy" short movies from my DVR to my Philips 3505/37 DVD recorder today. I managed to successfully record three movies and was in the middle of recording a fourth one when my Philips DVDR stated that it could not record onto the DVD any longer -- probably a bad DVD. I was able to save the DVD and found that while I can play it on the same Philips DVDR, I cannot finalize it. Due to that, the DVD is not recognisable to any of my PC's DVD burners under Kubuntu 10.10 or Windows 7. Any ideas about how I can copy the copy to another DVD and successfully finalize it? Thank you.

    Maybe with the DVDisaster ?

...dvdisaster can be helpful to recover the contents of a damaged disc even when no ECC data is available...
It is in the repositories - Package: dvdisaster.

I did try with a fine data DVD - the dvdisaster made a working iso. With a dvd coaster the dvdisaster didn't find any recoverable data. Maybe you do have better luck.
