Re: How to create a video with avidemux?

    (I'm using the Kubuntu 9.10)

I would use the > Kdenlive
Kdenlive is an intuitive and powerful multi-track video editor, including most recent video technologies.
    With the Kdenlive:

    (1) Drag&drop the image and the sound track from the Dolphin to the Kdenlive project tree

    (2) Drag&drop the image and the sound track from the Kdenlive project tree to the Kdenlive timeline editor. "Resize" the image duration (same as the soundtrack) with the mouse.

    (3) Render

Seems to work - the devil is in the details.

    With the > Avidemux
Avidemux is a free video editor designed for simple cutting, filtering and encoding tasks.

I would (try to - it is a bit clumsy):

Make a sequence from the image - same image with incremental naming ("image_000.jpg", "image_001.jpg", "image_002.jpg" and so on...)

    Avidemux:
    File > Open (image_000.jpg)
Audio > Main Track > Audio source/External file...
Video > Frame rate (1 FPS)
File > Save > Save Video

May work - the devil is in the details.
    Before you edit, BACKUP !

Why there are dead links ?

For Mpeg slideshows a very good option is imagination.

It's in the repositories. Easy to use and with a wide range of transitions. Well worth a look.
