Equalizer? [SOLVED READ 4 SOOUND HELP]

I tried to install eq-xmms-0.7 after puting myself through many fialed debian packages and aliening a few rpms . i still get GTK+ >= 1.2.7 not installed - please install first ***

NOTE: You may need to install the GTK development package.
Look for a RPM called 'libgtk1.2-devel' or 'gtkdev'.
(It should contain a shell script called 'gtk-config')
then i tried to install oem-config.trunk

    No package 'gtk+-2.0' found
    No package 'pygtk-2.0' found

    then i found
    http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false

a linux driver by realtek whom makes my on board card we will see if that fixes it
