When I first installed Kubuntu 8.10 sound pretty much didn't work in anything. But I got it working in some applications by changing the sound settings. I know Amarok works when I set the Output plugin to "OSS" for example.
For other apps and things such as skype, pidgin/gaim, macromedia flash in web pages I get absolutely no sound and I don't have an option to change the settings for these.
How can I change system wide settings? Or what do I need to do?
