    ConvertxtoDVD

We need something or exactly like this to run NATIVELY on any Linux based Distro

    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

With that and some integration of games my system would be more than perfect, since is PERFECT now!!!!!!!!

We need something or exactly like this to run NATIVELY on any Linux based Distro
We almost have one step dvd creator:

    Hyper Video Converter
    Description:
this is a frontend for ffmpeg /1/
    KDE DVDAuthor Wizard
    Description:
This wizard will allow you to create a DVD from one or more DVD compatible MPEG-2 files. It is designed to be very easy to use. All you need to do is add one or multiple files to the playlist and answer the questions that follow.

    Now you need two steps:
    1) convert x to the MPEG-2
    2) make dvd

So, you need common frontend with right default setting => one step dvd creator. =>

I just noticed this for KDE4:
    KDVDCreator
    Description:

Easy to use, user friendly and first of all smart, application to create video VCD, SVCD or DVD, suitables for home players, from any number of video files, in any of the formats supported by Mplayer/Mencoder.

    /1/ ffmpeg
    multimedia player, server and encoder
This package contains the ffplay multimedia player, the ffserver streaming
server and the ffmpeg audio and video encoder. They support most existing
file formats (AVI, MPEG, OGG, Matroska, ASF...) and encoding formats (MPEG,
    DivX, MPEG4, AC3, DV...).

    About Hyper Video Converter
Hyper VC uses Konqueror service menus as default. With Dolphin: Service Menus with Dolphin

yes DeVeDe is just great I use it all the time and it works just fine.........the onley scarey thing is the estimated disk use indicator.......it lyies He he I rutenley run it up to over 160% of disk with .avi's and the .ISO it makes is still smaler than it could be...........in other words it will say that I'm going to use 160% of a 4.7GB disk and the resalting .ISO is 2.5-3.2 GB

I'v even goten 4 1 hower TV episodes on 1 dvd with active custom menu with custom sound tracks and auto load the next episode

          kdenlive does this for you..
you can render video to DVD directly.. thought it will open a DVD writing application and you will have to click-click again

for simple editing. i use avidemux
and to convert a video to dvd i use DeVeDe , cause its quick and allows me to make basic a dvd menu quite quickly.

if i were creating a production video i would use kdenlive.

yes I'v ben reading those (and taking my valume with large glasess of beer) and am going to try it with the next DVD I make prob this weekend.

realey this kdenlive gives menney more options and choises and efecks and and and........... than DeVeDe witch for just a simpel DVD is why I use DeVeDe ..........it's esey and it works.

will get back with the resaults of my eforts with kdenlive .

                    Re: ConvertxtoDVD

WELL I just started to render a .avi into vob (the first step to making a DVD with kdenlive) ............ BUT I killed it within 3 minuts.

somthing called melt by top (dose that stand for melt your CPU) that I asume is the render engine for kdenlive was keeping the CPU at 200% SO I opted to kill it ..........now the 3 min of .vob that I got did play with VLC and looked to be of exelent qualety BUT that CPU load was in my opinun way to high for me to feall comfortable leting it finish a 1hr 45min movie.

DeVeDe never pushes more than 80-90% CPU so I think I'll stick with it.
