    Profile picture

I've been trying for several days to get my prickly profile picture to show but so far no success.

I already tried as a jpg or png and from 100x100 down to 80x80 pixels, any further hints?

Hang tight, the admins can check that to see if there is a problem in the database. We all had the situation for a while few weeks ago. I, personally, had to resize my avatar, to BELOW 80 by 80 to get it to take. The old forum could take a hundred by a hundred I think.

I don't see yet where to change it, but 80x80 and 19.5k is the current limit.

it is a per-group setting, and I have seen filesize/dimension uploading oddities involving other vb (3.8) site before, so I have tweaked the file size a bit to see if it helps

It might be that it is a "mini-max" situation.

            There is a maximum dimension( Z x B ) limit and also a maximum "density" limit(size).

The "dimensions" of an image can be "bigger" if the "size(density/number of pixels) of the file is smaller.

One way to do that is to open the file in say...GIMP and then "save as" a .png or a .gif, one will get a requestor box that asks for a "compression" amount. One can the use the slider to "save as" with different compression amounts and then choose the image which has the "maximum dimensions" and the "minimum size(density/number of pixels)".

just a thought....since my penguy is so ROTUND, I had to use a really HARSH compression on him! I even had to get a WHIP! and ALMOST had to get my spike heeled leather knee boots!

A likely story! You're just holding out on us. I'm sure you had your webcam going.

I know I feel much more at ease now that Lenovo is including spill-resistant keyboards.

                        I don't, um, have that concern...you know?

                            Because of a webcam? Whatever!

Now let's get back to you. I tell you what--I'll post a candid pic of myself if you post yours in your high heels. But...well...there's something I have to come clean on. You know how the Interwebs are full of poseurs, like those adult perverts who chat with kids pretending they're kids, too, and show up at the kid's house to have sex with them, and then Chris Hansen strolls in and says "so, what are you doing here today?!" Okay, so I know you all think I'm a 50-something female...but that's just a cover story. When you're ready for the shock of who I REALLY am, scroll down. Better sit down first...

                              lol

                              However,

I really must apologize to tenuis, who started the thread about something serious and I got it way off into other stuff.

So, sincerely, tenuis, I apologize for hijacking your thread.

To get back to the threads topic, tenuis, is the situation with your avatar reconciled?
