    Book?

As a windows user(gamer) who recently decided to switch to Linux(dual boot), I'm finding all of the nuances kind of overwhelming. The internet has been helpful, but there's so much information, I'm having difficulty just sorting through it and processing everything while doing other day to day activities. It was suggested to me that a book on Linux would be an excellent option to learn more efficiently. However with technology advancing so quickly even recent books might be outdated. I was curious if somebody could suggest some good books I could read on Linux(maybe Kubuntu/Ubuntu) in particular to help jump into Linux.

For each application mentioned there is a link to its project page and help files.

I found this book very useful when I was just starting out. I understand exactly what you mean, for I was in the exact same position as you--XP gamer, switching to brand-new Linux. Its hard, but totally worth it.
