    File and harddisk settings

    Hi,
one of my harddisks is a NTFS from the former windows installation. For now I wanted to keep it, but as Kubuntu messes up some of the special characters like äüö, I wanted to a add a line to hard disk settings.

    The problem is - I can´t find them ;-)
I even compared screen shots and I am pretty sure that I am looking at the right place (also on the advanced tab), I can see that all options appear like on screen shots - just my file and hard disk settings seem to be gone.

I tried to reinstall kde system settings, but this didn´t help.

    thanks,
    Walli

Use utf8 as an option in the mount command. See "man mount".
